
Andy Lehner

Andy Lehner is in his third year as the Head
Coach of the Monocacy Aquatic Club. During this short period of
time MAC has been very successful. MAC placed second at the
Maryland State Swimming Championps and third at the presigious NBAC
Christmas Invitational. The team also had one Junior National
Qualifier and sent 12 swimmers to the Speedo Championship
Series.
Coach Lehner has been coaching for 31 years
and has been very successful in College as well as Club coaching.
Previously he has held coaching positions with Florida State
University, Seton Hall University, Star Swimming, North Jeffco, and
Phoenix Aquatic Club. During his career Lehner is responsible for
developing 14 Olympic Trials Qualifiers, seven Big East Champions,
thirty-four State High School Champions, forty-five High School
All-Americans and one Pan-American and Pan-Pacific Gold
Medallist.
Lehner is a former NCAA Champion and
All-American swimmer. He swam for the University of Southern
California and Monmouth College. He was a memeber of the USS Senior
National Champion Team while attending USC and competed in the 1972
Olympic Trials. In 1973 he competed in the Maccabiah games in
Israel and won three gold medals. In 1987, Lehner was inducted into
the Pine Crest Prep School Athletic Hall of
Fame.
Coach Lehner is a graduate of Montclair
State University with a degree in Political Science. He currently
resides in Thurmont, Maryland.

Lauren Brenneman
Coach ( Senior White )

Lauren Brenneman (known as "LB" to all her
friends) graduated from East Carolina University in 2004 with a
B.S. degree in Exercise and Sport Science. She was a member of the
ECU club swim team for two years. Prior to that she swam on the
Frederick High School swim team for four years, where she served as
Co-Captain for two years. She started my swimming career with MAC,
where she swam for eight years. She also played on Frederick
High’s first women’s lacrosse team her senior year.
This is her third year of coaching and she has been teaching
swimming lessons for the past ten years. In addition to coaching
the Senior White group, she works full time in
Frederick.

Jeb Beaver
Coach ( Age Group II )

Jeb Beaver (ASCA Level 3)
Jeb Beaver began coaching at MAC during
the 2004 season following a head coaching stint at Walkersville
(Md.) High School, where he led the Lions to their highest
single-season win total in school history in 2003-04.
Before beginning his coaching career, he
swam for Walkersville High School where he was twice named First
Team All-Area by The Frederick News-Post. After Walkersville,
Beaver swam for Towson University and served as a team captain in
2002 and 2003--a year in which he was also a student-intern for the
program--and set three school records during his career. He was
also an America East Conference champion in 2001, an Eastern
Collegiate Athletic Conference champion in 2003, and set a Colonial
Athletic Association record in 2003.
Jeb also particpated in the Stanford
University swim camp hosted by the late Richard Quick during the
summer of 2004. During the camp, Beaver worked with Olympic
swimmers and helped teach fundamentals to young
swimmers.
While at Monocacy Aquatic Club he coached
numerous Top-16/Top-10 swimmers and Maryland State record
holders.
In addition, to coaching at MAC, Beaver is
employed at Towson University as the assistant swim coach where he
help lead the women to the conference championship and NCAA
All American .
Jeb is currently employed at Linganore High
School as a social studies teacher and assistant athletic
director.
Jeb currently resides in Walkersville, MD
with his wife Anna and their beautiful daughter Cora.

Jenn Thackston

College Park where she swam and played water polo. TJHS swimmer

Ashley Garyn
Coach ( Novice III )

Ashley has been coaching the Novice group
and the Masters group for MAC for 2 1/2 years. She also coached the
Hood Hammerhead summer swim team for two winning seasons, and has 8
years of experience teaching group and private swimming lessons.
She enjoys passing on what she has learned to young swimmers and
watching them grow. Ashley’s own swimming career includes
swimming for Hood College, where she placed in the top 16 of the
Capitol Athletic Conference in 2007. She placed in the top 5 of the
Atlantic Women’s Conference in 2006 and 2007. Ashley began
swimming when she was 12 years old. She swam for Millard West High
School in Omaha, Nebraska at the state level. Ashley studies
Communication Arts with a concentration in public relations and
business management at Hood College, and is working toward her
bachelors degree.

Scott Nipps
Coach ( Novice II )

Scott Nipps is excited to have joined the
MAC coaching team. He was previously the Head Swim Coach and
Assistant Aquatics Director with the Hagerstown YMCA Gators. Scott
has managed and led instruction at many aquatic facilities in
Washington and Frederick counties. Scott has continued to gain
knowledge through attending Eastern States Swim Clinic and Camp
Counselor with United Swimming Clinics, working with John Trembley
and Pete Williams.
Scott began swimming at Northwood Swim Club
at the age of six. He continued to swim summer league and winter
seasons with the Waynesboro YMCA through high school. Scott studied
engineering at Kettering University and currently works for the
Washington County Department of Water Quality. Scott also enjoys
water sports including scuba diving, jet skiing and long walks on
the beach.

Lori Rogers
Coach ( Novice I )

Lori grew up in South Africa and Namibia and
has lived in the United States for 13 years. She started
competitive swimming at the age of 8 and achieved two world records
for age group swimming while being trained by an American coach in
Namibia. She swam for Namibia and South Africa. She has a PE degree
from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and taught
swimming classes for several years in South Africa. Lori most
recently was the age group coach and novice coach for the New
Berlin Swim Club in Wisconsin where she coached several state
swimmers for the 2008/9 state teams.

Don Feinberg

Don Feinberg was the head coach of MAC from
its inception until 1995, and has an impressive
résumé in his 29 years of coaching. During
Feinberg’s tenure as head coach of the Monocacy Aquatic Club
(MAC), he coached in two U.S. Olympic Trials and in numerous U.S.
National Championships.
